CONCERN OVER PARKING: St Peter’s Church Council, is investigating a proposal in the suggested town plan for Hermanus that the land at the back of the church hall should become a public parking place. At present it is used for those attending functions at the church hall. Writing in his newsletter, the Rev. J. Alliston comments: “We are grateful to those who have already offered to lodge an objection to help in any other way.” The number of cars this piece of land could take compared with other parking areas was relatively few, he writes. “Even so, if the area were public it might prove a real inconvenience to those wanting to come to the hall. I feel fairly confident therefore this matter can be adjusted satisfactorily.”
