Fabio Lenci and his children, his son Claudio and daughter Carmen are all involved in Dal Italia Deli in Hermanus where, in addition to buying overseas products, one can also enjoy the best wine and eat traditional Italian dishes. “The deli was established during Covid and the lockdown,” Lenci related. “We put our heads together and came up with this wonderful idea to sell food products from other countries.”
On entering the deli it feels as if one is entering a cosy restaurant in Italy. With a picture on the wall of Lenci’s birthplace and an Italian radio station streaming in the background it’s the ideal place just to relax and enjoy the delicious dishes.
On 10 September Dal Italia Deli launched the Taste House, off-the-knife cheese mongers of the Klein River Cheese from Stanford. “We are proud to announce Dal Italia Deli is now the official tasting room for Klein River Cheese in Hermanus,” Lenci said.
