Overstrand Arts/Kunste (OAK) invites everyone to a very unique and special concert on Sunday 3 April in the Dutch Reformed church in Hermanus. Luvo Maranti, a young tenor from the town with a phenomenal singing talent, will be one of the star performers. He has been studying music full-time over the last three years at the UCT College of Music and has grown and developed in a remarkable way. Maranti will partner with well-known organist and pianist Louna Stofberg as well as Pieter-Adriaan Stofberg on cello and Jenna O’Neill on violin. Prof Johann van der Merwe will be the narrator. Luvo’s talent has recently been showcased on two occasions in Hermanus, and this may be your last opportunity to hear him before he leaves for Europe to participate in the International Lyric Academy Summer Programme in Vicenza, Italy. There he will perform in the opera Gianni Schicchi, in the role of Rinuccio from 7 to 24 July. Sunday’s concert commences at 15:30 and tickets are R150 (R60). Contact René du Plooy on 082 940 4238 or renedup@telkomsa.net for bookings. Covid-19 protocols will apply.
