Wiseman Ndara, accused of following his ex-girlfriend to Caledon and killing her, will remain in prison until his next court appearance early next year.

He was arrested at his workplace at Parmalat in Bonnievale shortly after Dimpho Skelenge’s body was found in the early hours of Wednesday 7 September in the Wendy house in Uitsig, where she stayed. She had reportedly moved to Caledon to start a new job as a clerk at the Caledon Magistrates’ Court at the start of August and also to get away from Ndara, with whom she had broken up.

He reportedly arrived at her new home the night before her body was discovered. The two allegedly argued hours before Skelenge’s body was found with several stab wounds the following day.ANC members and supporters gathered in front of the court with posters to demand “Justice for Dimpho” at every one of Ndara’s court appearances so far. The party’s Thanduxolo Hoza expressed relief and happiness after Ndara’s bail application was denied on Monday 28 November.

“It is a good thing he was denied bail because we all know women are killed almost on a daily basis, and the killers easily get out on bail, which is unacceptable,” he stated.“Another thing we are happy about is that the case has been sped up and that it has been postponed to January. “This shows justice is being served.“A few of Dimpho’s family members were also at court. “Although I did not get the chance to speak to them, I got the feeling that they are also relieved and happy about the fact that Ndara will remain in prison.” The case against Ndara has been postponed to 23 January 2023
