The Hermanus Bowling Club is going from strength to strength.
The newly elected executive committee for 2024-’25 is looking forward to a successful year.
Hannes Nel (president), Louise Roediger (club captain), Marianne Spamer (secretary), Stanley Chong (club manager), Ian Herbst (sponsorships and media) and Arthur Taute (greens manager) would like to invite anyone interested in taking up this great sport to come and try out, meet new friends and enjoy an interesting game outdoors on their three well-kept bowling greens.
“We had a busy August and despite rain and strong wind, the club hosted the Western Cape Provincial Bowls Association’s u-45 Tournament,” Keith Murray said. “Fortunately, the weather did not dampen the spirit of the youngsters and the team from the Cape Winelands won the tournament.”
According to the organisers of the Business League Competition, which is played annually in the evenings in summer, this unique competition is open to any business or company to enter a team.
“The club is also embarking on a sponsorship and fundraising drive to improve the existing facilities,” Murray said. “The large clubhouse houses a fully-equipped kitchen and bar and is available to hire for private functions of any kind.”
