With summer-like conditions here the bowling greens are beginning to pick up condition and the season is in full swing.
In the recent Boland Veteran 4’s Competition held in Worcester, silver went to the team of Gavin Carter, Lucille Herbst, Stanley Chong and Sonja Kruger from Hermanus.
Stephan Chambers won his round robin section in the Overberg Men’s 2-Bowl Singles.
Laurie Keevy won the gold medal and Louise Roediger the silver medal in the Western Cape Invitational Singles.
This competition included players from Western Province, Boland and Eden (Southern Cape). “We are proud of our Hermanus ladies for this excellent achievement,” the club stated.
The following Club Competitions were also recently played:. Drawn Trips (Members enter and a random draw is made, this can usually yield some surprises). The men’s winners were Servaas de Wet, Stanley Chong and Morné du Plessis and the ladies winners was the team of Susan Esterhuyse, Renet Chambers and Judith Vorster.. Nominated Pairs (This is where the members pick their own partner to play with). The nominated pairs winners were Gavin Carter and Colin Butler (men) and Susan Esterhuyse and Celine Bekker (women).
Businesses can sponsor a bowling competition day. These days attract entries from bowls clubs across the Overberg and are very well supported.
The club facilities are also available to rent to host private or business events, team-building events and functions.
