The tournament champions Team Handle receive their trophy from Paul Kruger, headline sponsor of Seeff Business League 2025, and Hannes Nel, president of the Hermanus Bowling Club.

Altogether 42 teams from Hermanus joined the Hermanus Bowling Club’s Business League tournament from 10 to 21 February.

“This year we are happy to announce we have a headline sponsor and the tournament is called Seeff HBC Business League 2025,” one of the organisers said.

“The aim of this tournament is to promote the sport of bowls solely for the business fraternity in the Hermanus/Overberg region and to foster an atmosphere that encourages business networking and social awareness in the greater Hermanus area. We also want to motivate interest among participants, which is conducive to increasing club membership.”

The first round of this competition was based on a draw by the skips or team managers, and round 2 and 3 were based on pitting strength against strength.

“After the results of first, second and third rounds had been determined the teams were divided into three divisions competing on strength versus strength.”

The prizes were also attractive, with the first three teams in a division receiving prize money and gold, silver and bronze ribbon awards.

The winner of a division also received a trophy, one among other trophies, which included the Conrad Oosthuisen Spirit Trophy and the KVV du Plooy Rising Star Trophy, which was given to the team that showed the most improvement year on year or a brand new team that surprised all with their first performance.
