Vintage car enthusiasts will be excited to know that they can view a 1933 Bentley Derby Special, a 1993 Lamborghini Diablo, a 2015 Ferrari 458 Speciale and many other spectacular vintage vehicles at this year’s Cape 1 000 automotive event, which will stop at various towns, including Hermanus and Swellendam in the Overberg.
The event kicks off on Sunday 10 March with registration and a welcome dinner at the V&A Waterfront, before the 60 vehicles set off from Cape Town to George. Day 2 of the 1 000-mile (1,61 km) touring rally ends with a cocktail auction before everyone departs for Hermanus the following morning. On Monday they will be at the Drostdy Musieum in Swellendam and on Thursday 14 March they will depart from Hermanus to the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town.
