Kleinmond Councillor Grant Cohen has recently been patrolling with the police and fire department. Cohen says that while on patrol he noticed that there was a a lot of children in the streets. “I know parents have been struggling to keep them indoors so I thought of getting puzzles and toys which would hopefully help with this and keep them busy.”

According to Cohen there has been a great response from the community. “There was also a  wonderful response from the parents and children’s who received the toy packages. We have noticed that there are less children in the streets and the toy project really has an impact.”

He adds that colouring books and crossword puzzles for the elderly could also be donated. Those who wish to donate toys of any kind can contact Cohen on 072 436 9068.  We will collect any donations from their houses which they can leave outside. Cohen explains that every item get sanitized before it is handed out to the families. Pictured here is Councillor Grant Cohen with some of the toys and books collected
