The high swells this past weekend raised concerns. A Facebook user wrote on “Wie maak vir Gansbaai lekker”: “There was no wind or a storm, just these powerful waves crashing in.” According to the NSRI the high temperatures, coupled with rough seas and high sea swells, were due to a recent southern ocean storm and the tail end of the recent full moon.
