Overstrand firefighters and street and stormwater staff rescued a dog that was caught in a storm drainpipe in 10th Street, Voëlklip on 14 July.
“The dog was scared but not injured, and was happy to be reunited with its family, who is visiting from Johannesburg,” said the Municipal Manager Dean O’Neill.
The municipality commended the firefighters and street and stormwater staff for their assistance in saving lives, albeit often of the furry, four-legged variety.
