Synonymous with magnificent trails, spectacular views, mouth-watering food, a relaxed atmosphere, great vibe and most importantly, teamwork. This three-day stage race explores some of the most beautiful terrain that the Western Cape has to offer. The route starts with a short and sharp Prologue on the trails of Meerendal Wine Estate, before heading south-east to Hermanus, where the seaside town hosts the race for two stages. From Hermanus, the first transition stage of 2023 pits teams against a traverse inland to Oak Valley Estate where a mid-week time trial awaits on the trails of Oak Valley and Paul Cluver. As last year, this family-centred event which also invites people to camp in supplied three-man tents, raised funds for Grabouw High School, a beneficiary of many years of Tru-Cape’s events in the area. See www.Weekend-Warrior.co.za for entry details or email team@redcherryevents.co.za.. The 2023 HI-TEC Walker Bay Outdoor (27 April-1 May): Featuring a festival of endurance sports in Hermanus the long-weekend’s activities will include the fan favourites – such as the mountain-bike race, triathlon and trail runs – but the ninth edition will also boast a road cycling race and full marathon.
