Aidan Brummer, a Grade 6 learner from Curro Hermanus, loves what his doing.

This enthusiastic sportsman got his Overberg kickboxing colours in March and then his Western Cape colours in April in Retreat.

On 13-14 May he went to Mossel Bay to take part in the South African Kickboxing Championship as a member of the Western Cape team. He took part in Continuous fighting and Point fighting.

He reached the final in both categories and received a gold medal for both.

After two weeks has gone past, the family got the news that Aidan was selected in the South African team to go to Italy in September. Aidan is also playing for his school’s first team cricket and rugby and is member of the athletics team. He is a very hardworking young boy and has a bright future ahead of him.

“We, at Curro Hermanus, are very proud of him and his positive outlook is an example for many,” said Gustav van Wyk, the head of sport for the primary school.
