Hawston welcomed Villiersdorp in a 50-over encounter at the Hawston Oval on Saturday 27 January.
Hawston won the toss and elected to bat, scoring 251 runs in 43 overs. Top scorers were Chadwell Koopman (68 runs), Duran Plaatjies (46 runs) and Byron May (42 runs). Hawston then took to the field and bowled out Villierdorp for 71 runs. The leading wicket takers were Kyle Philander (4 wickets for 13 runs in 7 overs), Heino Bailey (2 wickets for 21 runs in 6 overs) and Gino de Boer (2 wickets for one run in 2 overs).
For the 2023-’24 season Hawston played nine games winning five, losing two, drawing one and also had one no result game.
