The Botrivier Community Volunteers (BCV) are leading the cemetery upgrade initiative by planting trees and indigenous plants along the road leading to the Bot River Cemetery. Rachel Browne of BCV told Hermanus Timesthat members of the community really worked together by supplying plants from their gardens, compost as well as transport for the compost. Gabrielskloof Wine Estate donated the olive trees that were planted, and TWK Municipality helped with the transport of the trees and dug the holes for the trees. Twenty-two olive trees and other indigenous plants were planted on Sunday 7 August. Here siblings Eben Pheiffer, Grace Pheiffer, Rozetta Carelse and James Pheiffer are beautifying the road leading to the Bot River Cemetery.
