Make a difference in your community by donating warm blankets and clothes.

The Elpida Foundation, based in Napier, calls on the community to assist them with their Winter Drive to collect warm jackets, beanies, scarves, thick socks, blankets, soup and non-perishable foods for the less fortunate.

Chandré Behr, a community worker with the organisation, explained that they also need the assistance of local businesses in Napier and surrounding areas to become involved by making drop-off points for the project available in their stores or at their offices.

“All donated goods will be distributed to people from our community and the surrounds who are less fortunate,” Behr stated.

Elpida Foundation also hosted a Mothers’ Day High Tea event recently. On this day, women from the community could dress up and don elaborate hats for the fun event that was held in the NG church hall.

Funds raised through this event, said Carmen Jagers of Elpida Foundation, will be used to buy items for the Winter Drive project and food for their soup kitchen.

Donations can be dropped off at Elpida Foundation’s offices at 6 Geel Street, Napier. People can also choose to donate funds that will be used to purchase the necessary items.

Individuals or businesses who wish to become involved in the Winter Drive can contact the Elpida Foundation on 028 001 0557 or 079 246 6675.
