The wider Hermanus community and its various community organisations are in for another election this year, and hopefully before the national and provincial elections in May.

The Hermanus Community Police Forum needs to hold a Special AGM and elect a new chairperson and deputy chairperson after Eddie Holloway, former deputy chair and chairperson from 2023 resigned. He also served as exco member responsible for projects. He has resigned to focus on his local neighbourhood watch, of which he’s deputy chairperson.

There are certain requirements for being eligible to take part in the Special AGM election by nominating and voting for candidates, community organisations, including neighbourhood watches, sports clubs and churches. They have to register with Hermanus police, from whom they can collect required applications forms, before handing the completed forms back to the Hermanus police.

The geographical area of the forum runs from Voëlklip to Fisherhaven, so organisations in this area may register.

Capt Fadila September at the Hermanus police may be contacted on 028 313 5300. A venue, date and time for the Special AGM will be announced.
