Reach for Recovery is an international organisation supporting breast cancer patients who have had surgery. The South African branch celebrated its 55th birthday on 27 July, and to mark the occasion local branches ran an awareness campaign entitled “Strings of Support”. The Hermanus branch hooked donated second-hand bras together in long strings to spell the word “Hope” out in a setting that is uniquely Hermanus. The Old Harbour was an obvious choice for a landmark. Here are Sugnét Sieberhagen, Sumien Warwick, Ann-Marie Lubbe and Seugnet du Plessis.
