Citizen Leader Lab together with leaders from the Overberg Education District and the Hermanus Business Chamber came together on 14 August to honour extraordinary citizens from the Overberg District on the completion of the “Leaders for Education” programme.
Altogether nine principals and their respective business leaders from Villiersdorp, Greyton, Stanford, Hawston, Mount Pleasant and Grabouw were honoured at a prestigious event held at The Cheverrells Farm Shed Restaurant in the Elgin Valley.
The principals and business leaders proudly shared their what they had learned, their experience of the programme, how it benefited them and how they applied their new skill set.
Jessica Batts, learning-process facilitator in the Overberg, explained: “The programme provides leadership development and support to principals who hold the reins of schools that serve under-resourced communities.
“As an organisation we strive to support principals to become successful change agents who can transform their schools into effective environments for quality teaching and learning.”
