The lighthouse, which is situated a few kilometres outside Gansbaai, will be open from Thursday 16 June at 10:00 to Saturday 18 June at 15:00.

The troopship HMS Birkenhead was wrecked off Danger Point in 1852 on a rock approximately 1,6 km from Danger Point. Danger Point Lighthouse was built in 1895. The octagonal structure is 18,3 m (60 ft) tall and emits three beams of light every forty seconds.

Entry to the lighthouse is free. Those who wish to climb to the top of the lighthouse are asked to make a donation. Enquiries: 072 291 5564.
