HERMANUS – The Misty Waves Boutique Hotel in Hermanus has made it into the 2020 top 10% of hotels worldwide list.
This was released by TripAdvisor as part of the Travellers’ Choice Awards. In 2019 the hotel also had the honour of being featured on the list of top 25 hotels in South Africa. Clinton Lerm, a trustee of the hotel, says it is an honour and privilege to be on this list again. The four-star hotel was established by the Lerm family about 16 years ago. “The hotel has the trademark ‘Lie in bed and watch the whales’, offering guests exactly that,” Lerm says.
What makes the hotel unique, he points out, is its delivery of a five-star service in a four-star setting. “Guests’ experience is exceeded once they check in and receive a welcoming family treatment.”
Lerm says many of the staff have been with the hotel for years, and the quality of its offerings is a testament to their loyalty and hard work. Location also plays a big part, he says. “The location of the hotel is a big factor. It is a few minutes away from the Hermanus CBD and the seaside.”
