The Moffat Hall in Mount Pleasant was filled with pride and celebration on Saturday 25 October, as MP City FC Junior held its annual awards ceremony, recognizing the outstanding achievements of their young players during the 2024-’25 JFFC season.
The evening proved to be a resounding success, with players, families, and supporters gathering to celebrate a remarkable year of football excellence that saw the club achieve impressive tournament results.
The ceremony highlighted the club’s exceptional performance in the JFFC tournament, where their u-14 team claimed the coveted first place position, while the u-16 squad secured a commendable third-place finish. These achievements had already been recognised earlier this year, the teams receiving rewards on 16 August 2025 for their excellent performance.
In keeping with the club’s philosophy of celebrating participation and development every player received a medal and certificate acknowledging their excellent participation throughout the season. This inclusive approach ensures all young footballers feel valued for their commitment and effort. Several players received special recognition for their outstanding contributions: Most Improved Player Awards: u-10 – Nushaan; u-12 – Caleb and Bryce (joint recipients); u-14 – Eli UysPlayer of the Season Awards; u-14 – Peter Montaque; u-16 – Thabo Paulse. These individual accolades highlight the club’s focus on both improvement and excellence, recognising players who have shown exceptional growth as well as those who consistently performed at the highest level. The successful evening was made possible through contributions from many supporters throughout the year. The club expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone who helped make the ceremony a memorable occasion. “It was indeed a successful evening, enjoyed by all present,” noted club organisers.
As the club looked ahead to future seasons it was actively seeking support from the broader community to continue providing opportunities for young footballers. MP City FC Junior appeals to institutions, businesses and individuals for donations or sponsorship to help meet the children’s needs for practising soccer in a healthy and disciplined manner.
The club’s commitment to developing young talent while instilling values of discipline and healthy living makes them an ideal partner for community-minded sponsors looking to invest in youth development. MP City FC Junior’s success story demonstrates the positive impact that well-organised youth football can have on a community. By providing structured opportunities for young people to develop their skills, stay active and learn valuable life lessons through sport the club contributes significantly to the holistic development of Mount Pleasant’s youth.
The combination of competitive success, individual recognition and inclusive participation creates an environment where young footballers can thrive both on and off the field.
