It is fun and for a worthy cause – Lighthouse 2 Lighthouse Ladies raised more than R1 million with their walks this year.
“We donated R450 000 to Hermanus Child and Family Services and R550 000 to Sofca Hermanus,” said Dr Michele Serfontein, Chairperson: Lighthouse 2 Lighthouse Ladies. “We were also able to give the other nine applicants for funding in 2021, R10 000 each – a total of R90 000. It is with great anticipation that we announce that the call for Applications for Funding 2023 is officially open.”
Any non-profit/public-benefit organisation within the Overstrand municipal district is welcome to apply for funding by downloading and completing the relevant application forms.
“Applicants need to specify the project for which funding is required,” Serfontein said. “The project needs to be realistic and viable and has to be completed within the year following the handover of the funds. The application needs to indicate the organisation’s target group (and the size of the target group) and the community that will benefit from the project.
“Applicants will also be required to submit a three-minute video appealing to the Lighthouse 2 Lighthouse Ladies and the Overstrand community to raise funds for their specific project. The video will need to include information about the charity and the work it does in the Overstrand,” Serfontein said.
A compulsory briefing session will be held via zoom on Wednesday 13 July at 15:00. The link will be sent to all interested charitable organisations that are keen to apply.
