Seon Swartz has been appointed the new Director of Community Services at Overstrand Municipality from 1 March 2024.
Swartz’s vast experience of local government stretches over 30 years and includes serving at different municipalities, such as Stellenbosch, Langeberg, Bergrivier and Breede Valley.
Before his appointment at Overstrand he was employed as Director of Community Services at Breede Valley Municipality for six years. There he was responsible for more than 500 employees and had 10 managers reporting directly to him.
Swartz holds various traffic-related qualifications and obtained his honours degree in public administration at the University of South Africa (Unisa) in 2007.
He is married to Dione and they have a son and grandchild. The Swartz family now reside permanently in Kleinmond, where they have had a holiday home for the past five years.
