Hermanus Community Policing Forum members celebrated Youth Day on Thursday 16 June by taking 50 children up Rotary Way. CPF member and community worker Maria Pieterse and Captain Fadila September of the Hermanus Police used the opportunity to create awareness around child abduction. “We used role-play to demonstrate what you should do when a stranger approaches or grabs you,” said Pieterse. “We also taught the children important emergency numbers.” The children also played some cultural games and were treated to hotdogs.
