Road House Cinema is proud to host an exclusive one night only screening of the groundbreaking documentary The (M) Factor: Shredding the Silence on Menopause on 23 February (17:00) at Road House Cinema, Whale Coast Mall.
This special event will be compered by Karen Nebe, The Menopause Coach, who will lead an engaging discussion following the screening.
The (M) Factor is a powerful and eye-opening feature-length documentary that delves into the hidden impact of menopause on women’s lives. Beyond individual health, untreated menopause has far-reaching consequences, including billions of dollars in lost wages, disrupted careers, family challenges and emotional struggles. The film presents evidence-based information to empower women to make informed healthcare decisions while working to eliminate the stigma surrounding menopause and aging.
Through the lived experiences of women across America, the film offers a raw and unfiltered look at the challenges they face in doctors’ offices, workplaces and homes. It sheds light on critical issues such as racial biases, gender-ignorant health care, and systemic barriers due to the lack of mid-life health-care research. Women featured in the film share their personal stories of suffering debilitating symptoms while being ignored, ridiculed and shamed, often without access to proper treatment.
But change is happening. The (M) Factor highlights the movement to fix this broken system, change the cultural narrative and transform the future of menopause care. With insights from progressive physicians, health-care advocates and leaders in the menopause movement, the film presents actionable solutions that can be implemented in medical communities and workplaces nationwide.
