Overstrand Arts /Kunste (OAK) is proud to once again host a special performance by Gustavo Romero. OAK will host this concert in an exciting venue – the Grobbelaar Hall behind the Dutch Reformed Church in Hermanus, by choice of the maestro. Romero has been in South Africa since the beginning of the year – he played for OAK on 16 January – and will now return to present a Beethoven concert. It is reported that the response to his Beethoven series in Cape Town, where he presented a complete cycle of the 32 Piano Sonatas, was amazing. Romero is a concert pianist, internationally renowned for his exceptional technical brilliance and interpretive depth and he has gained an acclaimed reputation for his commitment to in-depth exploration of a wide variety of composers. Prof Romero lectures at the College of Music at the University of North Texas. The concert will be held on Sunday 24 April at 15:30. Tickets are R150 (R60 for students) and available from René du Plooy on 082 940 4238 or renedup@telkomsa.net. Classical music lovers should not miss this concert! All Covid regulations will apply.
