Love was in the air at Hawston Primary School on Friday 14 February as learners and staff came together to celebrate Valentine’s Day. This special day was not only about spreading messages of love, but also about fostering a sense of community, creativity and financial support for the school. Under the capable leadership of principal Neil Pedro the day was a resounding success. Learners participated in various activities designed to develop their skills while raising funds for the school. From designing heartfelt Valentine cards to selling roses, photos and delicious food items, the learners embraced the spirit of the day with enthusiasm and creativity. One of the highlights of the event was the card-making activity in Ylita van Wyk’s class. The learners showcased their artistic talents, producing stunning designs that impressed teachers and parents alike. This activity not only allowed the children to explore their creative abilities, but also helped them develop their writing skills as they crafted heartfelt messages for their loved ones.
