Haus of Performance dance students made Hermanus proud when they ended third in the Hip Hop division at the Battle of the Giants All Styles Dance Sport Festival, which was held at Sun City recently. The competition celebrated 30 years of dance and attracted more than 613 dancers from 57 dance schools nationally. This event is the largest and most respected all-styles dance competition on the annual calendar. The president of South African Body of Dance, and organiser of the competition, Bev Wood, said she was so grateful and appreciative of all the support received this year, and thanked all the dedicated and passionate people that had contributed to making this event a success over the past three decades. She said: “The dance competition had an exciting edge this year, the dancers challenging themselves, and we saw some great choreography and new talent arising from this year’s event. The dancers competed at high standards to attain their place on the podium.” The Haus of Performance group ended third in the Group Battle of the Giants: 17-and-over division.
