Sergeant Tembi Gweyi, spokesperson for Caledon police, reports they have recovered a variety of goods believed to have been stolen in various incidents of housebreaking and theft.

“In various operations executed from 13 to 20 May we managed to recover a large number of stolen items, including bicycles, electrical appliances, light fittings and a gas stove,” he pointed out.

“We believe it is important for the community to be made aware of the successes so they can sustain trust in the police. We also want the community to know we will follow-up on information we receive.

“When the community is behind us we are able to execute our duties without any fear.”

People who believe some of these recovered goods may well belong to them are invited to visit Caledon Police Station with their ID and a proof of purchase.

“If you do not have the proof of purchase you can bring along any kind of evidence that will prove it belongs to you, or you can make an affidavit to this effect,” Gweyi said.
