The Greyton MTB and Gravel Club is excited to announce the Pie Run, now in its eighth year, is getting a significant makeover and will be rebranded as The Canola Roller.


Riding your bike through one of the most beautiful parts of the country and doing something for others is now within everyone’s reach.

The Greyton MTB and Gravel Club is excited to announce that the Pie Run, now in its eighth year, is getting a significant makeover and will be rebranded as The Canola Roller.

The Canola Roller is your ticket to the most breathtaking springtime views of the Overberg and the Riviersonderend mountains. The 130 km route is 95% gravel and one of only five events in the Cannondale Western Cape Gravel Series.

Expect a thrilling ride featuring everything from fast hard-pack rolling hills to demanding technical climbs and exhilarating downhill sections. Fear not, every kilometre of this epic journey is conquerable on a gravel bike.

The race will start early on Saturday 21 September in Greyton. There are three choices of distance: 130 km, 80 km, and 30 km, with e-bike options for all distances. ?Entry fees raised go towards the Greyton MTB Juniors Club and the maintenance and upgrading of Greyton’s mountain-bike trail network. Greyton Juniors is a group of 40+ children from the community that meet twice a week to receive training, mentorship and support.

Registration will take place at the Anglican church hall, 1 Jones Street, Greyton on Friday 20 September from 17:00 to 19:00 and on Saturday from 06:30 to 07:00.
