Golfers were undeterred by the wind and rain as they gathered at Hermanus Golf Club for the annual Izibusiso Golf Day fundraiser.

Organisers described the day as a spectacular event, showcasing the resilience and spirit of the local community.

“Despite experiencing all seasons in one day – sunshine, rain and wind – the golfers remained undeterred, turning the weather into a mere backdrop for a day filled with fun and camaraderie,” said Mardene le Roux, deputy chair of Izibusiso Foster Homes.

As the golfers handed in their scores, they were greeted with refreshing ice-cold beers and gin and tonics, a much-appreciated treat after a day on the course. The evening continued with a braai, where everyone enjoyed delicious food and shared stories of their day.

The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the auction, which was a tremendous success.

“We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of the golfers and bidders,” Le Roux stated. “Fantastic items, including stays at Jaci’s Lodges in Madikwe and Luxury Waterfront Apartments, were quickly snapped up in the spirited bidding process. The auction’s success is a testimony to the community’s support and commitment to our cause.”

There were also great prizes for the winning golfers.

“Izibusiso is deeply thankful to all the golfers who dedicated their time and energy to make this day special. Your participation and generosity help us continue our mission to support and care for the babies at Izibusiso Foster Homes.

“Thank you to everyone who made the Izibusiso Golf Day an unforgettable event,” Le Roux stated. “Your support means the world to us and the children we serve. We look forward to seeing you all again next year for another fantastic day on the course!”
