During crime prevention and road policing patrols last week, Overstrand Municipality’s K9 and Task Team continued to reap positive results.

The team was patrolling the R43 near the Vermont traffic lights when they noticed a suspicious looking bakkie driving in the direction of Hermanus.

The same bakkie was recognised during a previous operation, prompting them to stop and search it.

They discovered 11 bags of dagga hidden in a bag. The female driver was arrested and taken to the Hermanus Police where a case docket was registered.

In another unrelated incident, unit members spotted a young adult male with school clothes on, standing idling near Ghost Town in Mount Pleasant.

They approached the young man and he said that he had dagga bankies on him and that he is selling it for a friend at a school in Hawston. He then took the officers to the friend where they found more dagga zols, a scale and cash.

The two suspects were arrested for possession of dagga and taken to the Hermanus Police.
