Fannie Masemola, national police commissioner, says day-to-day operations will not be affected by the allegations against Police Minister Senzo Mchunu, News24 reports.
“Normal day-to-day policing at stations and other SAPS service points continues.”
This comes after KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi alleged that Mchunu received payments from a corruption suspect and played a role in dismantling a team investigating killings to shield politically connected people.
Mchunu rejected the allegations as “insinuations made without evidence or due processes”, but said they would be looked into.
