The IBC Bodyboarding World Tour Walker Bay Pro 2022 is in full swing.
The opening at Milk on the Beach last week was something to see – world champ Tristan Roberts signed boards while the whale crier opened the event and Bot River Marimba band welcomed the guests.
On Sunday people flocked to Onrus to see the athletes in action. With the athletes check-in at 07:15 excitement was in the air. This is a first for Africa, and at the opening Executive Mayor of the Overstrand Dr Annelie Rabie welcomed bodyboarders from all over the world.
“The Walker Bay Pro 2022 gives momentum to the recovery of sporting events,” she said, “and we are looking forward to this opportunity for visitors to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of Onrus.”
This prestigious event will take place until Sunday.
